Hot Tank Cleaning Solution

Description

Hot Tank Cleaning Solution was especially formulated to be a powdered, 100% active stripper and cleaner for various ferrous metals. It’s a heavy-duty hot soak cleaner that has an advanced chemistry made up of biodegradable emulsifiers, highly alkaline builders, and specialized chelating agents. The pH is 13 and can be used at multiple concentration ratios. It effectively removes paint and prevents flash re-rusting due to the use of strong chelating agents. Also, it provides long vat life and superior cleaning because of the advanced biodegradable emulsifiers. As a ferrous metal cleaner, it quickly will remove engine varnish, sludge, grease, light rust, paints, engine enamels, loose carbon deposits, oil, etc. It is successfully used throughout the USA at car repair shops, diesel shops, oil field equipment re-builders, compressor re-builders, re-manufacturers, maintenance crews, and countless other industries. Please note that it is not designed to be used on Babbitt metal, galvanized, or aluminum.

This high-performance cleaner is priced economically and is extremely effective at cleaning, making it a perfect cleaner for any hot tank operation. Here are some recommended cleaning solution mixtures for hot tank cleaning. It can be used at multiple concentration ratios from 8 oz. to 3 lbs. of powder for each gal. of water. When the task for cleaning is considered lite and medium, use a concentration rate of 8 to 12 oz. of powder per gal. For those extremely difficult stripping and cleaning tasks, recommended concentration rates are 3/4 to 2 lbs. of powder per gal. of water. Typical applications for Hot Tank Cleaning Solution will require concentration rates of 1.5 pounds of powder per gallon of water. For the majority of cleaning operations, a recommended vat temperature would be 180 degrees F. Still, depending on the level of soil, the type of surface to be cleaned, and the cleaning time duration, recommended temperatures may vary and range from 150 degrees Fhrenheit to 200 degrees F.

The following is a recommendation when charging hot tanks. The water in the tank should be lukewarm and have a temperature of 80 degrees F to 90 degrees F. Prior to applying the cleaning powder, wear rubber gloves and eye protection, then pour cleaning powder slowly into the tank while stirring to prevent any lumping. Avoid any splashing. Be sure to stir sufficiently before applying any more heat. It is important never to add the cleaning powder to a hot tank. Cool the tank and then slowly add powder using either a long-handled tool. Caution must be taken not to add powder to a hot temperature solution, which may cause in-tank boil over.

Here are some recommended procedures to improve the vat service life. Remove and skim away any oil or grease that may have collected at the top of the vat. Periodically, it is a good idea to add water into the vat, thereby replacing any which may have been lost through evaporation. This can prevent an over-concentration of the cleaner, thereby maintaining the correct conditions for proper cleaning. Sometimes, it may be necessary to sweeten the vat when necessary by adding some Hot Tank Cleaning Solution. This addition will help replenish any lost by reaction to soil or drag out. The frequency in which a tank is sweetened and the amount of powder that needs to be added can vary from operation to operation. Still, the following recommendations will work in most instances. Approximately 1 time per week, add hot vat parts cleaning powder at a rate of 1/2 an ounce of powder per gal. of water in the vat.

There are numerous advantages when utilizing Hot Tank Cleaning Solution in your cleaning operation. First of all, it’s specifically engineered for hot vat operations. Its chemistry utilizes the finest alkaline activated chelates that quickly remove any paint, light rust, and also will help stop flash re-rusting. It is economically priced and still 100% active. All the wetting agents and emulsifiers are biodegradable. Regardless of contamination, it was formulated for a long solution life.
