Sicily, Italy is sometimes considered a country in of itself. Olive oils off Sicily’s coastal regions are packed with intense flavors, the southern part of the island tends to have fruitier, more bodily oils, while the hilly regions often have more rounded flavors. Regardless of which part of Sicily olive oil is made, the city prides itself on its high-quality oils. Their pride doesn’t stop there. Sicilian bread is also a staple part of the Sicilian diet, with what many consider to be unmatched throughout the world. In fact, for hundreds of years, the Roman Empire deemed Sicily the “bread basket” due to the quality and abundance of Sicilian wheat fields. Today, elements of Greek, Arab, Spanish, and French cultures have combined to create one of the world’s most delicious foods. It’s easy to see why we’ve chosen to market Sicilian flavors in Champion Sicilian Bread Dipping Seasoning.
What’s in It?
Champion Sicilian Bread Dipping Seasoning is a salt-free way to enhance your bread dips, with strong flavors of garlic, subtle flavors of tomatoes, and a smoky, sweet undertone. This product is hand-blended from high-quality garlic, tomatoes, smoked sweet paprika, chipotle, basil, brown mustard, oregano, bay leaves, marjoram, thyme, and rosemary to create the perfect symphony of flavors.
How to Use It
Go all out with your Sicilian-themed cuisine by either making fresh bread from scratch with your family or going to a Sicilian bakery to get a loaf. Sicilians traditionally savor warm, crusty loaves of bread with top-quality extra virgin olive oil, cherry tomatoes sliced in half, grated pecorino cheese, salt and pepper, fresh basil, and dried oregano. To make a delicious olive oil seasoning dip, mix three tablespoons of Champion Sicilian Bread Dipping Seasoning with half a cup of olive oil. You can easily add more or use less seasoning depending on your tastes. Let sit for 30 minutes before dipping in.
If you’re looking for a less traditional yet just as tasty way to use the seasoning, you can also make a vinegar and oil salad dressing. Mix three tablespoons of Champion Sicilian Bread Dipping Seasoning with 2/3 of a cup olive oil and 1/3 of a cup of red wine vinegar. This dressing will keep if refrigerated, or you can alternatively use it all in one meal by using it as a light chicken, fish, or pork marinade.
